Coen Schothorst works in our Pipeline Technology department. He’s the father of two young children and the company’s go-to joker. He’s a cheerful presence in a busy department, and after completing a degree in Marketing and Communications, he also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering.
After that, he worked “in the nuts and bolts business,” as he calls it, and at a company specializing in central heating boilers. Coen believes jobs that combine commercial and technical aspects suit him best. “My heart lies in technology,” says Coen, “but I also really enjoy customer contact.”
He’s been working at Profiltra as a Customer Relations Employee since last year. “I immediately felt comfortable at Profiltra,” says Coen, describing his first impressions of the company. “You’re accepted here for who you are, and that appeals to me,” he continues.
What he enjoys about his job is researching all sorts of technical matters for clients. He’s expanding his knowledge of expansion joints and wear-resistant materials and is eager to provide clients with the highest level of service. “You can expect more from Profiltra than just selling the best products,” says Coen. “I want to know our clients’ production processes and needs inside and out so I can provide them with sound advice and help them develop the best customized technical solution for their specific situation.”
Finally, he wants to share one of his many jokes:
A truck driver is having lunch at a truck stop when three bikers come in and take his food. He doesn’t say anything, but he gets up and leaves. Another driver sitting by the window hears one of the bikers say, “What a wimp this truck driver is. We take his food and he doesn’t say anything.” “Yeah,” the other driver says, “and he’s a bad driver too. I just saw him run over three Harleys outside.”
