Our service engineer Hugo Ferreira is originally from Portugal. This handy Portuguese man hasn’t worked in his native country for a long time. “The weather in Portugal is great, but the salary isn’t as good,” Hugo laughs. He finds the Dutch open-minded and friendly, and most importantly, he feels he experiences more respect for him as a professional here.
Where craftsmanship meets appreciation
With no fewer than 20 years of experience in the installation industry, 15 of which in refractory materials and, more recently, in wear-resistant ceramic materials, Hugo has earned his stripes. His enthusiasm for Profiltra is clear: “At Profiltra, I receive the respect I deserve, and my opinions are listened to,” says an enthusiastic Hugo. “Working with the team at Piping Technology & Wear Solutions is fantastic. This is the second team I’ve been truly satisfied with during my long career.”
Cousin André also works at Profiltra
He even asked his cousin André from Portugal to join Profiltra as a Service Engineer. André has now been working for Profiltra for about a year and a half. Hugo says of his collaboration with his cousin, “André and I are a great team. We install wear-resistant materials, among other things, with great precision and expertise for Profiltra’s customers.”
Dutch is a difficult language
Because Profiltra believes it’s important that our technicians also speak some Dutch, both men are taking Dutch lessons at the office. Hugo already speaks a little Dutch, although he finds the language “quite difficult.” But when asked “How are you?” he politely replies “Everything’s fine.”
